The Cabinet Secretariat delegation of Japan led by Global Health Ambassador Hayashi Teiji and the Department of Health (DOH) delegation of the Philippines led by Undersecretary Maylene Beltran recently held the 4th Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare in Manila.
The meeting highlighted the continuous healthcare partnership between the two countries, citing the Philippines’ issues on elderly care, universal health coverage, and disaster health management as the focus of the bilateral cooperation.
Officials from both delegations target to translate high-level strategic commitments into more concrete, actionable, and sustainable initiatives.
They also sought to broaden Japan-Philippines partnership beyond clinical care and across the healthcare sector for the benefit of both countries.
