Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya recently paid a farewell call on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos at the Malacañang Palace.
During the call, Ambassador Endo cited theleadership of President Marcos in reinforcing developments in the areas of security, economy, and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the Philippines.

While referring to the State Visit of the First Couple to Japan last May 2026 on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Japan-Philippines Friendship, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
They also expressed their shared determination and resolve to further broaden cooperation as Comprehensive Strategic Partners.
President Marcos conferred the Order of Sikatuna on Ambassador Endo in recognition of his contributions to further strengthening the friendly relations between Japan and the Philippines.Â
