The Embassy of Israel in the Philippines recently marked Israel’s 78th Independence Day celebration with the inauguration of the Digital Learning Resource Center at Jacinto Zamora Elementary School in Pandacan, Manila.
The event was led by Israeli Ambassador Dana Kursh and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara. They were also joined by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez, and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega.
In partnership with the DepEd, the former information and communications technology (ICT) room has been converted into a modern child-friendly learning hub, equipped with computers and other digital tools, with all units installed with CodeMonkey to introduce students to coding and computational thinking. It also features a reading corner.
This initiative is seen to reflect Israeli technology and innovation in education and the Embassy’s commitment to digital literacy in the country, strengthening the enduring friendship between Israel and the Philippines through shared investment in the next generation.
