The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) returned to ITB Asia for the third consecutive year, bringing Israeli tourism companies and tour operators to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore for the three-day business-to-business event.
Representatives from IMOT offices in the Philippines, China, and India joined together in running a booth where Israeli companies and tour operators met with Asian travel agents, tour operators, and industry partners.
“Returning to ITB Asia for the third year in a row shows how much we value Asia as a growing source of visitors to Israel,” said Roy Kriezman of the IMOT headquarters in Jerusalem. “Every year we see stronger interest, deeper relationships, and more Asian travel professionals eager to bring their clients to experience Israel. We are building long-term partnerships here.”
ITB Asia has also been the bridge between IMOT and the region’s major travel trade associations, namely the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies (ASTINDO), and Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA). These relationships are seen to give Israeli tourism partners access to a wide network of agents across Southeast Asia, including those who serve Filipino travelers.
According to IMOT, a major talking point for the Philippine market is that Filipino citizens can travel to Israel without a visa, a clear advantage for travel agents putting together pilgrimage groups, family trips, and leisure itineraries. Singapore passport holders enjoy the same visa-free access.
IMOT Marketing Manager for Singapore and the Philippines Anna Oraiza Abanat said Filipino interest in Israel remains strong. “Filipinos have always had a special connection with Israel, whether through faith and pilgrimage, culture, food or adventure. With visa-free entry and our Israeli partners meeting Philippine and Singapore travel agents face to face, we are making it easier than ever for Filipino travelers to turn that interest into a real trip.”
