Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya recently attended the 45th Philippines-Japan Friendship Celebration (PJFC) and Medal of Merit Conferment Ceremony organized by the Philippines-Japan Society (PJS).
The PJS honors remarkable individuals each year for their contributions in enhancing Japan and the Philippines’ mutual bond.
This year’s awardee is Ogata Kenjiro, Academic Advisor of the Philippines Institute of Japanese Language and Culture Foundation Inc. and the Nihongo Center Foundation Inc.
During his speech, Ambassador Endo honored Ogata’s lifelong contributions and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the PJS and its partners for their continued support. He also commended the recent progress in Japan-Philippine relations, timed with the 70th Anniversary of Japan-Philippines Friendship this 2026.Â
