Japan has been the Philippines’ top donor of Official Development Assistance (ODA) for more than 50 years, according to Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
In a press release, JICC also mentioned that as a steadfast and trusted partner, Japan remains committed to supporting the Philippines in line with its socioeconomic development priorities towards a more prosperous future for all Filipinos.
The statement came after Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya attended the Philippine Development Forum 2025 yesterday in Manila. Also in attendance were President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., cabinet members of the Philippines, and other development partners.
The Philippine Development Forum 2025 serves as a venue for productive exchange and collaboration between the government of the Philippines and its development partners, guided by mid-term results, for a more cohesive and responsive national development plan.
