The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) concluded today a 12-day program to provide capacity building support for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), as part of the Japanese Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The Mobile Cooperation Team (MCT), dispatched by the JCG, provided instruction and guidance to the PCG personnel, including those aboard the 44m class patrol vessel (Japan-provided patrol vessel), on essential improvements in towing operations.
Additionally, the MCT reviewed equipment and materials required for oil analysis, and conducted training related to oil spill response and analysis.
The JCG will continue to work with the PCG to enhance its capacity building efforts.
