The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs recently announced six winners of the 2024 Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE).
Two American companies were chosen for each of this year’s three ACE categories.
The 2024 ACE recipients include: Parker Clay and Bank of America for Women’s Economic Security category; Koster Keunen and Microsoft for Innovation to Strengthen Communities; Newmont and Rizome for Climate Resilience.
Rizome, a small company, has pioneered the use of engineered bamboo in the construction industry from its flagship project in the Philippines. Rizome is using innovative technology to create a sustainable alternative to other construction materials, while reforesting with fast-growing bamboo.
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken presented these six American companies, large and small, with the award in a ceremony at the State Department.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Award for Corporate Excellence’s founding.
Over this quarter of a century, ACE has highlighted how American businesses have raised the bar of corporate social responsibility and utilized innovative tools and technologies to create positive impacts in the world around them. Though the challenges the global community has faced over the past quarter of a century have changed, U.S. companies remain at the forefront of generating lasting solutions.
