Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual cited the pivotal role of the United States in the country’s stride for economic growth and development during the bilateral meeting with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo on November 13 at Marriott Marquis Hotel in San Francisco, California.
In particular, Secretary Pascual shared the country’s interest in forging partnerships to boost the innovation economy through a worker-centered, sustainability-driven, fair, and transparent approach.
During the meeting, the DTI Secretary exchanged views with Secretary Raimondo on how to take advantage of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework Agreement to bring in projects and investments, including those that will accelerate the country’s clean energy transition.
Both countries expressed dedication to joint efforts through the 2024 Presidential Trade and Investment Mission and the March 2024 Indo-Pacific Business Forum. These endeavors aim to fortify engagement with stakeholders, expand bilateral trade and investment opportunities, and prioritize key sectors such as clean energy, critical minerals, and food security.
