After 16 years, the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) marked a successful return to ITB Asia, the region’s largest travel trade show, held recently in Singapore.
IMOT’s participation, despite ongoing challenges in Israel, underscores its commitment to reconnecting with key markets in the region especially the Philippines and promoting the country’s diverse tourism offerings.
The IMOT pavilion featured the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” reflecting the upcoming 2025 Jubilee Year, which aims to draw pilgrims and spiritual travellers from around the world.
The Israeli delegation included Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Minister Peleg Pablo Lewi; Director of International Marketing Hassan Madah; and senior representatives from IMOT’s Asian offices, including India’s Marketing Director Amruta Bangera, Philippines’ Marketing Manager Anna Oraiza Aban, and China’s Tourism Affairs Consul Roy Kriezman.
Reflecting on their participation, Ms. Aban said, “ITB Asia 2024 has provided an excellent platform to showcase Israel’s unique offerings to a new generation of travellers from Asia. Philippines has always been a strategic market, and we are enthusiastic about its growth potential. Our engagement with Filipino travel professionals and media attending the trade show has been extremely rewarding, and we are confident that the strengthened ties will lead to greater interest in Israel as we welcome more Filipino travellers.”
As Israel prepares for the Jubilee Year in 2025, IMOT remains focused on promoting the country as a destination rich in history, culture, sustainability and spirituality. The ministry looks forward to building on the connections made at ITB Asia to enhance tourism collaboration and increase travel from the Philippines.
