The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and global logistics leader DHL recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOU) to boost the access of Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to international markets.
The MOA, signed during Usapang Exports held at the DHL Service Center in Ortigas, Pasig City, will facilitate provision of MSMEs with enhanced logistics solutions, e-commerce integration, and critical market intelligence—key enablers for success in today’s competitive global arena.
Under this partnership, DHL will offer end-to-end trade solutions through its three major business units: DHL Express for international express shipping and customs facilitation; DHL Global Forwarding for air and ocean freight forwarding; and DHL Supply Chain for contract logistics and warehouse management.
The collaboration promises streamlined customs clearance, faster and more affordable shipping, and access to digital platforms that simplify e-commerce transactions. These improvements are expected to lower transaction costs and boost operational efficiency for MSMEs expanding abroad.
Aligned with the Magna Carta for MSMEs (Republic Act No. 6977, as amended by RA 9501), the partnership underscores the value of public–private collaboration in strengthening MSME competitiveness. It supports the Magna Carta’s mission to expand MSME access to local and foreign markets, enhance their capabilities, and drive innovation and technology adoption.
