Swedish Ambassador to the Philippines Annika Thunborg recently paid a courtesy visit at the Senate following the appointment of Francis “Chiz” Escudero as the new Senate President.
Ambassador Thunborg highlighted the growing defense cooperation between the Philippines and Sweden. She also expressed the strong interest of Swedish companies to invest in the Philippines.
For his part, the Senate President reaffirmed the Philippine Senate’s commitment to improve the country’s investment climate.
Furthermore, they discussed the need for reform in the United Nations and the state of international geopolitics, and both agreed on the importance of alliances and the ability to quickly adapt to an ever-changing world.
