The Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) – National Coordinating Council (NCC) held a two-day Interagency Strategic Planning event last month in Makati City.
The event, organized in partnership with the UPSKILL project and facilitated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), currently serving as the Interim Secretariat, was seen as a significant step in aligning the agencies’ efforts and setting a clear strategic direction for the future of the PQF-NCC.
Participants in the strategic planning engaged in the following activities: (1) Assessment of Current Context for both the external and internal environments; (2) Workshops Envisioning its Future Directions; (3) Defining and Clarifying Mission and Purpose; (4) Identifying and Setting Strategic Priorities and Objectives; (5) Alignment of the Working Group (WG) level action plans with the PQF-NCC’s Vision, Mission, and Objectives (VMO); (6) Strategic Organizational Adjustments: Presentations on necessary organizational changes for successful plan implementation
The PQF is a robust reference system for national standards of qualifications earned by individuals educated and trained in the Philippines. It serves as a reliable guide for employers, workers, teachers, learners, and the public, providing a clear understanding of the various levels of educational qualifications and setting high standards for qualification outcomes in the country.
PQF’s leadership and coordination involves the following agencies: Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
