Philippine delegates met recently with Atom Computing, developer of highly scalable, gate-based quantum computers utilizing atomic arrays of optically-trapped neutral atoms in San Francisco, California.
The delegation includes officials from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and Semiconductor and Electronics Association of the Philippines.
The Philippine government sees the potential of the revolutionary technology by Atom Computing to drive groundbreaking advancements in various sectors. It particularly eyes applications in healthcare, information management systems, the proposed Virology and Vaccines Institute, and materials development for manufacturing.
Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba underscored the visit’s significance in grasping emerging technologies and strategies, aligning with the country’s innovative industrial approach, “mindfacturing.”
