Filipino caregiver Camille Jesalva was honored recently by Israeli President Isaac Herzog for her heroism during the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas.
The event was held for the authors Yair Agmon and Ariya Mevorach, and heroes like Jesalva whose survival account was one of the 40 inspiring stories featured in the bestselling book “One Day in October.”
During their conversation, Jesalva told President Herzog that she is Filipino and proud to be one. The President praised Camille for her quick thinking which helped her and her elderly patient keep safe during the ordeal.
