Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss recently hosted an intimate dinner for the families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) Jimmy Pacheco and Camille Jesalva at his residence in Manila.
Ambassador Fluss honored the two Filipino caregivers who exemplified bravery and heroism on October 7 attack by Hamas against Israel.
Pacheco was held captive by Hamas to Gaza for 49 days. His 80 year-old employer was shot in front of him. He also shared he became friends with the father of Bibas family who is still in captivity.
Jesalva is a survivor in the Kibbutz area. She saved her life and the life of her Israeli employer by offering her money to Hamas.
Both Pacheco and Jesalva are spending the holidays with their loved ones in the Philippines.
