Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual highlighted the Philippines’ potential in terms of renewable energy (RE) investments, during a meeting on October 9 in Adelaide, Australia.
He was joined in the meeting by Southern Infrastructure Pty Ltd. and Kaizen ANZ Pty Ltd., an Australian-based development and construction company, delivering complex infrastructure projects for government and the private sector, both in Australia and internationally.
Secretary Pascual cited the Philippines’ policies on foreign ownership for RE projects, which were recently relaxed to promote the sector.
According to him, this is also an active effort to reach the country’s target of at least 35% share of renewable energy (RE) in the power generation mix by 2030 and a further 50% by 2040.
