Senate President Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero recently received Greek Ambassador Ioannis Pediotis at the Senate and discussed ways to further strengthen Philippines-Greece relations and attend to the welfare of thousands of Filipino seafarers on-board Greek ships.
The Senate President apprised the Ambassador on the recent signing of Republic Act No. 12021, or the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers that would ensure their rights for safe and decent working conditions.
The Ambassador likewise informed the Senate President of the Embassy’s plans in celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Greece diplomatic ties next year.
