Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss along with Consul Moti Cohen personally conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family of Angelyn Aguirre in Binmaley, Pangasinan on November 5.
Aguirre was one of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 in Israel.
The Israeli diplomats expressed their sympathies and informed the family of Angelyn, who is now part of the “Victims of Terror,” the Israeli government will provide them with benefits and assistance just like the other Israeli victims of Hamas.
“I heard stories about Angelyn from her family and friends. She was a caring and a loving person. May her memory be blessed,” Ambassador Fluss said.
The following day, November 6, Ambassador Fluss and Consul Cohen attended the arrival of the ashes of Grace Cabrera, another slain overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
Cabrera and her 96 year-old employer Aviva Sela were killed when Hamas terrorists stormed into Kibbutz Beeri and murdered hundreds of members of the community.
Cabrera will also be joining the Israeli family of “Victims of Terror” together with the 1,400 others who were murdered by Hamas on October 7. Her family will be receiving lifetime benefits and assistance from the Israeli government.
“My sincerest condolences and sympathy to the family of Grace. At the same time, I would like to thank her for dedicating her life serving and protecting her Israeli employer. Israelis consider all the OFWs who were murdered by Hamas as heroes. They are now forever part of our family,” Ambassador Fluss said.
“Israel is at war with the terror organization Hamas which is trying to destroy Israel and murder Jews. We will bring the 240 hostages back home and will make sure that the Hamas terrorists cannot do such atrocities again in the future. We will protect Israelis and Filipinos alike,” Ambassador Fluss added.
