Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss together with Deputy Chief of Mission Esty Buzgan went hands-on as they participated at the Harvest Festival on January 10 at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU).
They were joined by officials and representatives of the City of Tarlac and TAU.
Prior to this, students and farmers have undergone a series of training under SMART agriculture project by MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation.
Ambassador Fluss said, “I am blessed to be able to join you today and harvest the crops grown in this province using Israeli practices and technologies. This is my vision, to build bridges of innovation and technology between Israel and the Philippines, and I am happy to see one of its fruits here in Tarlac.”
During the event, Ambassador Fluss also met with Tarlac Governor Susan Yap who expressed her sympathies to Israel.
A hundred blue and white balloons were also released during the event, marking the 100th day since October 7 when Hamas attacked Israel and took hostages to Gaza. This is Tarlac’s effort to support Israel and call on the safe and immediate release of the 132 hostages still in the hands of Hamas.
