Senate Committee on Migrant Workers Chairperson Senator Raffy Tulfo, along with his spouse, House of Representatives Committee on Oversease Workers Affairs Vice Chairperson Congresswoman Jocelyn Tulfo, recently attended the celebration of the 65th National Day and 35th Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, at Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.
Senator Tulfo’s attendance came after State of Kuwait Ambassador to the Philippines Meshari Yousef Muhammad Alnibari invited him to this celebration when the latter paid a courtesy visit at his Senate office on February 2.
During the celebration, Tulfo also engaged with ambassadors from various Middle Eastern countries and discussed with them the welfare of oversease Filipino workers (OFWs) within their jurisdiction. Among the officials were Consulate General of the Syrian Arab Republic Mohammed Issam El-Debs, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Philippines Mounir Y.K. Anastas, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Philippines Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony.
