Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual welcomed United Kingdom Trade Envoy Richard Graham on April 26, 2023 in his office in Makati City.
The discussion between the two officials focused on initiatives centered on strengthening the PH-UK trade relations and the Philippines’ interest on renewable energy-related projects.
The new Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) was also discussed during the meeting. DCTS is an initiative of the UK Government and a major milestone in fostering free and fair trade with developing countries, including the Philippines.
Secretary Pascual expressed optimism that more UK businesses will turn to the Philippines as the government implement more policies to create a healthy business environment and promote ease of doing business.
As for Envoy Graham, he commended the Philippine government for being pro-businesses through its recent economic reforms.
