The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation, Inc. (PCCI-HRDF) recently conducted a forum and focus group discussion on “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Philippine Exporters.”
The activity forms part of an ongoing PCCI-HRDF study assessing the digitalization and AI readiness of the country’s export sector.
The forum underscored the growing importance of AI-driven innovation in boosting the global competitiveness of Philippine exporters and building digital trust across industries.
Multi-awarded e-commerce advocate and leadership coach Janette Toral shared valuable insights on why embracing digitalization and AI is essential for exporters. As global trade continues to evolve rapidly, foreign buyers now expect faster turnaround times, accurate documentation, and personalized engagement through digital channels.
For many MSME exporters still relying on manual processes, facing high marketing and logistics costs, limited market visibility, and slow response to demand shifts, AI-powered tools can offer quick and practical solutions.
The session also introduced AI platforms beyond ChatGPT and Google Gemini—such as Claude—that can support exporters in market research, product design, logistics, and planning.
All participants acknowledged that AI simplifies daily operations and boosts productivity, particularly for entrepreneurs managing multiple responsibilities. However, they also stressed that human judgment remains indispensable for ensuring creativity, accuracy, and ethical integrity.
They also acknowledged that while AI can be a powerful ally, responsible and balanced use is crucial. By combining human expertise with AI efficiency, Philippine exporters can confidently navigate the digital future and strengthen their foothold in global markets.
