Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya recently attended the “Enhancing Cyber Resilience: Approach, Responses and Practical Actions” Forum hosted by the Stratbase Institute for Strategic and International Studies at The Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City.
The event brought together representatives from the Philippine government, the military, the academe, and the private sector, as well as cybersecurity experts and members of the diplomatic community.
The forum aimed to share insights on the increasing cybersecurity risks in the Indo-Pacific and the need for strengthened cross-border collaborations to advance cybersecurity in the region.
In his remarks, Ambassador Endo discussed Japan’s efforts to promote the enhancement of cybersecurity capabilities in the ASEAN region, including the Philippines.
He also stressed in-depth discussion on concrete responses to cyberattacks, international cooperation and coordination, and capacity building will strengthen collective efforts and advance the vision of a free, fair, and secure cyberspace for all.
Also one of the speakers was Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda.
The forum is seen to underscore the shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region through a free and open Indo-Pacific.
