FASHIONPhilippines is entering the international scene as it premieres a three-day curated showcase on September 23 at Fondazione Sozzani Milan.
The showcase is a culmination of the FASHIONPhilippines Milan, an international mentorship and exhibition program of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) designed to showcase the ingenuity and global potential of Filipino fashion designers.
The program aims to provide Filipino designers with expert mentorship and opportunities to enter the European fashion market.Â
Participating Filipino fashion brands and designers include Adam Pereyra, Bagasao, Bitagcol, Calli, Carl Jan Cruz, Ched Studio, Idyllic Summers, Lorico, Renz Reyes, Tagpi, and Vania Romoff.
They all underwent a mentorship program led by the Philippine Fashion Coalition (PFC) supported by LIT Fashion Consultancy in Manila and by Fondazione Sozzani with fashion industry professionals in Milan.
Unveiling collections developed under the Milan Mentorship Program, the showcase offers a fresh perspective on contemporary fashion. At its core are Philippine Innovation Textiles from the Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), sustainable fabrics that honor indigenous traditions while reimagining the future of style.
